Don’t let that Masters hangover set in! There is more money to be made. This week, the PGA Tour heads to Hilton Head for the RBC Heritage. A scenic golf course we have seen yearly gets elevated status and brings in the game’s best. Here are my 2023 RBC Heritage DFS picks in each price range! As always if you’re looking to bet on golf, check out this sports betting guide which offers a comprehensive guide on how sports betting actually works.
2023 RBC Heritage DFS: Best Plays in Each Price Range
2023 RBC Heritage DFS – $9,000+
Scottie Scheffler $11,000
If Scottie Scheffler goes a tad unnoticed here, I am all the way in. This event does not usually lend itself to this strong of a field, so I would not be surprised if the public completely fades this 11k range.
Jon Rahm, off a Masters win, could be due for a setback, and Scottie Scheffler with zero course history. At under 20%, hammer the number two player in the world and the leader in strokes gained: ball striking at last week’s Masters.
Patrick Cantlay $10,300
Warning, we are now in a Patrick Cantlay chase zone. Cantlay has always been a good but not great ball striker and an elite putter. However, these last few months, he has become an otherworldly ball striker and a horrific putter. So it is only a matter of time before we catch Cantlay on a hot putter week.
Like Jordan Spieth last year, he went on a run of elite ball striking and poor putting only to catch a win at the 2022 RBC Heritage by beating who in a playoff? Oh, right, Patrick Cantlay. The stars are aligning, and Cantlay will finish no worse than 5th at the 2023 RBC Heritage.
2023 RBC Heritage DFS – Middle Tier
Justin Thomas $8,900
Leverage at its finest, the narrative around Justin Thomas is that he is an objectively lousy golfer. However, Thomas missing the cut at the Masters may have been just what he needed. He is as motivated as anyone headed into yet another elevated event on Hilton Head Island. A course that demands precision off the tee and deadly accurate wedges is where JT does his best work. Play the low-owned Justin Thomas at this week’s 2023 RBC Heritage.
Corey Conners $7,800
A bit of underprice on a golfer who disappointed the majority last week. Conners was heavily touted coming off a win in Texas before he headed to a course he has had great success at. This week will be interesting as Conners heads to a golf course that requires precision off the tee and extremely accurate iron play. That is what his game is.
The ball striking and accuracy alone should lend Conners to a high finish at Hilton Head. Seeing the sentiment and narrative around Conners this week will be interesting. If we see discounted ownership on Conners, play Corey Conners at the 2023 RBC Heritage.
2023 RBC Heritage DFS – <$7,000
Tyler Duncan $6,800
Tyler Duncan, the 2019 RSM Classic Champion, is trending into this week’s event. Duncan has two top five finishes in his last five starts. In addition, he has gained over three strokes of ball striking in each of those previous five starts.
If you are wondering why I started this with “2019 RSM Classic Champion”, these golf courses suit a very similar style of play, and the event that Duncan won was a showdown against one of the best RBC Heritage players ever, Webb Simpson. So the similarities are there, and Duncan is in good form. Look for him to be a decent play to round out those lineups.
