Week two in Texas! As golf fans and bettors, our eyes are on next week, but there is money to be made here. TPC San Antonio is one of my least favorite tracks on tour, visually and quality of golf. Nonetheless, it is a course that truly does not benefit a specific skill set and lends itself to the guys who are playing the best golf coming in. Let’s take a look and see who some of those names may be for the 2023 Valero Texas Open!
2023 Corales Puntacana DFS: Best Plays in Each Price Range
2023 Valero Texas Open DFS – $9,000+
Rickie Fowler $10,200
Fowler is going to be a popular pick this week for multiple reasons. Besides the stats looking good, he needs a high-end finish to qualify for next weekend’s tournament in Augusta; ever heard of it? Fowler has played in 10 stroke play events in this 22-23 season, and he has made nine of the cuts, and six of those are top 20 finishes. Clearly, he has fixed issues in his swing and is as close to being “elite” as he has in years.
What does @RickieFowler do after winning his match?

Fowler has played this event three times, making the cut in two of them, which were both top 20 finishes. At this price point and ownership, we will need Fowler to finish inside the top 10. I believe he has it in him to get it done, so we will run him out in our DFS lineups.
Si Woo Kim $9,700
Si Woo is coming off his best approach week since his win at the Sony Open. The week prior to his win at the Sony Open, he slated a pop iron week, gaining 8.81 on approach in Houston. Speaking of Texas, Si Woo has played this event six times and made the cut five times. Four of those starts were top 23 finishes, including a T4 in 2019. Si Woo has won more times than 90% of the players in this field and is heating up at the right time. This is a field he can contend with, and this is a field he can win in.
2023 Valero Texas Open DFS – Middle Tier
Thomas Detry $8,400
Thomas Detry continues to push out high finish after high finish. I truly think his ceiling here is about T6, but this is a DFS article, and all six players do not need to win. Detry plays his best golf when the lights are not on him, and I doubt people are rushing to get the Belgian in their lineups. Coming off a top 10 finish in Puntacana, Thomas Detry should fare well as one of the more talented players in this weaker Valero Texas Open field.
Beau Hossler $7,700
Four straight missed cuts for Hossler, but it is truly quite simple; you play Beau in Texas. Hossler went 4th, 17th, and 21st in three starts in Texas from April to May. It is unsurprising that Hossler gets up for these Texas events, as he spent his college years playing at the University of Texas. It may not be pretty, but we don’t ask questions. When we get to Texas, Sweet Beau gets into the lineup.

2023 Valero Texas Open DFS – <$7,000
Dylan Frittelli $6,800
This 6K range is not pretty, but we could do much worse than Frittelli at 6.8k. He is coming off consecutive missed cuts but is not playing horrendously at the moment, as he finished T30 at Honda and T15 in the elite WM Phoenix Open field. Like Hossler, Frittelli is another UT Longhorn who loves to play in Texas. He has played this event three times, finishing 8th here last year and never missing the weekend in any trip to this event. Frittelli is an excellent target to round out your 2023 Valero Texas Open lineups.
