Broderick Jones – NFL Rookie Draft
Background
Height – 6’4″
Weight – 310 pounds
As a five-star recruit and number one overall tackle, Johnson anchored the offensive line of the last two seasons with the following accolades via the UGA Website.
2022: Associated Press All-SEC First-Team selection
2021: Coaches’ Freshman All-SEC Team
Offensive Line Pros
Quickness – Very quick off the line of scrimmage and able to engage blockers with good leverage.
Footwork – Seems very technically sound from a footwork perspective.
Pulling – He is really at his best when asked to pull and block in space in the run game.
Offensive Line Cons
Pass Blocking – He has the footwork and the quickness to be successful here but seems to duck his head and lean into blocks instead of using his base.
Hand Fighting – Sometimes doesn’t stay engaged with the blocker and can be swiped fairly easily.
Waits to Engage – Want to see him command the block instead of letting the defender engage first.
