Having been out of the picture for a number of years, English Premier League giants Arsenal find themselves back in a title race this season.
A team that had to settle for fifth last term, the North London outfit have impressed in the first half of this season and their fans around Canada and the world will be hoping they can finally get their hands on the trophy in May.
Gunners Take Major Strides
Manager Mikel Arteta and his side appear to have learned plenty from the disappointment of missing out on the Champions League places last season. The Gunners narrowly missed out on a top-four finish and to add insult to injury, it was their arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur who pipped them to the fourth spot. Arsenal seemed to have learned from what went wrong and now plenty of punters from Canada and around the world see the Gunners as genuine title contenders this time around. Just one defeat in the first half of the season has shown the progress made in the Arsenal camp since last term. The arrival of forward Gabriel Jesus and midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko over the summer from champions Manchester City provided a much-needed lift at the Emirates. However, the level of the squad as a whole has been lifted as the confidence has grown at the club. Arteta has been given time by the club’s hierarchy to develop a winning culture and it’s why many punters in Canada and around the world will fancy Arsenal to end the almost 20-year wait for the title.
City Still The Team To Beat
Looking at the odds and, despite being sat in second place in the table at the turn of the year, reigning champions Manchester City are still many people’s favourites for the title. Manager Pep Guardiola has seen his side slip up at times this season, especially just before the break for the World Cup when losing 2-1 on home soil to Brentford in November. After a defeat in the derby against Manchester United in mid-January, the Cityzens can’t afford many more defeats if they are to keep the pace.

City are blessed with a squad brimming with talent and boast the league’s top goalscorer so far this season in the form of Erling Haaland. The Norwegian scored 21 goals in his first 16 Premier League games and will take some stopping to be denied the Golden Boot this season. With Haaland and City hot on their heels, Arsenal will need to hold their nerve as the pressure rises over the coming months.
It has certainly been a positive start to the season for Arsenal and now Canadian fans and punters will be keeping a close eye on how an intriguing Premier League title race will play out.
