Valspar Championship DraftKings: Best Golf DFS Plays in Each Price Range

Valspar Championship DraftKings: Best Golf DFS Plays in Each Price Range

After a long and strenuous PLAYERS Championship, the PGA TOUR is headed to Innisbrook for these Valspar Championship DraftKings picks. If the Florida Swing has shown one thing is that there is trouble everywhere, and nothing is going to be easy. Innisbrook is really no different than a lot of the courses we have seen, it is a difficult track, that requires long approach shots and features narrow fairways.

The field this week has some starts at the top that hopefully do not withdraw before this article comes out. Highlighted by stars like Colin Morikawa, Viktor Hovland, and Justin Thomas. Other past champions in the field include Sam Burns, Paul Casey, and Gary Woodland.

Course Report:

Par: 71
Length: 7,340
Architect: Larry Packard
Greens: Bermuda Grass overseed with Poa
Average Winning Score L6: -11

Without Further Adu let’s get into my favorite DFS plays for this week.

Valspar Championship DraftKings : Best Golf DFS Plays in Each Price Range

10,000+ Range

Viktor Hovland $10,800

It is hard to find a better in-form golfer on the planet right now than Viktor Hovland. Three top 10s in his last three PGA starts with Wins at the Mayakoba and Hero World Challenge. Hovland is certainly on his way to solidifying himself as the best ball striker in the world.

What I love so much about Hovland this week is that long iron play is going to be extremely important. There is no one in this field that even comes close to his level. Over the past 50 rounds, he ranks first in proximity from over 200 yards and second in proximity from 175-200 yards. Viktor is a great place to start your DFS lineups this week.

9,000 Range

Shane Lowry $9,700

I wrote up Lowry last week as my favorite play on the board and he cashed a 13th place finish for us. I have no problem going right back to him at his price this week. Lowry gained strokes in all major categories last week. Highlighted by gaining 4 strokes on approach and a hole in one, I like him for more of the same this week.

It has been seen that in form iron players excel here, Lowry ranks 12th in this field in strokes gained approach over the past 12 rounds. Mix in excellent Florida results on difficult tracks in his past two starts and this is an easy Valspar Championship DraftKings play for me.

8,000 Range

Cameron Tringale 8,000

3rd place finisher at this event last year, I will go to Cam Tringale at $8,000 this week. This is an ownership play for me. I will point out that Cam is off two missed cuts but I am willing to overlook those two finishes.

Tringale is a golfer that I always like to play in difficult conditions, 2nd at the ZOZO, 7th at the Houston Open, and 3rd at the Farmers. These are all events that require great short games, elite iron play, and avoiding bogeys. All of those aspects will be very important this week.

$7,000 Range

Adam Hadwin $7,900

A past champion that is in good form, Hadwin fits that build this week. Coming off a 9th place finish at the Players last week, the 2017 Valspar Champion is set to contend this week. The thing that is even more impressive about Hadwin is that he was on the unfavorable side of the draw last week and still managed to post a high finish.

This Canadian gained 4.2 strokes on approach and 5.7 putting at a difficult track with very similar greens. Hadwin is going to be a popular play this week but I think differentiating ourselves elsewhere will make it worthwhile.

$6,000 Range

Martin Trainer $6,000

A lot of you are probably wondering who Martin Trainer even is but I am here to tell you that this minimum-priced golfer will make the cut. Trainer is often known as sort of a laughing stock on the PGA Tour, but not this week. 2019 Puetro Rico Open Championship is known for his lack of made cuts but he has been playing well recently.

Martin made back-to-back cuts at the Waste Management Phoenix Open and Honda Classic, trainer is also famous for leading the Houston Open back in November. This was another difficult Bermuda track. Minimum price Martin Trainer will make the cut this week.

Valspar Championship DraftKings Optimal Lineup
Viktor Hovland $10,800
Shane Lowry $9,700
Cameron Tringale 8,000
Adam Hadwin $7,900
Doc Redman $7,400
Martin Trainer $6,000
