Waste Management Phoenix Open DraftKings: Best Golf DFS Plays in Each Price Range

Waste Management Phoenix Open DraftKings: Best Golf DFS Plays in Each Price RangeOne course, 36-hole cut, stacked field. Finally, we have a normal and exciting week on the PGA Tour for the first time in what feels like forever for your Waste Management Phoenix Open DraftKings contests. This is a marque event that is best known for its raucous crowd and exciting closing holes and serving as a pregame for the Super Bowl.

We have big names in the field as this week features 18 of the top 30 players in the Offical World Golf Rankings. Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Viktor Hovland, and Patrick Cantlay are all teeing it up this week in search of their first win of the 2022 PGA Tour Season.

We also have defending champion, Brooks Koepka in the field. Along with past winners of this event like Webb Simpson, Hideki Matuysnama, and Gary Woodland. All these elite golfers mixed with the exciting layout should make for a great week in PGA DFS.

Without further ado let us get into my favorite DFS plays this week.

10,000 Range

Justin Thomas $11,000

There is a simple formula in DFS that when it presents itself, is hard to overlook. When a golfer is riding great recent form and has good course history, you play that golfer. Justin Thomas fits that to a tee this week.

Coming off a 5th place finish at Sentry and a 20th place finish at the Farmers, JT has found some form. He now comes to a way better course fit, where he finished in 3rd place in 2019 and 2020. Another reason to like JT here is that in his last 4 visits to this event he has gained an average of 3.5 strokes putting. The biggest weakness of his game is his putting so any event he has proven he can put at, he will be a solid Waste Management Phoenix Open DraftKings play.

$9,000 Range

Scottie Scheffler $9,100

A golfer in search of his maiden PGA Tour victory. Scottie Scheffler is bound to break through soon and I think this is a perfect spot for him. Long and straight off the tee, makes a bunch of birdies, and can embrace a rowdy crowd, Scottie Scheffler can excel in your Waste Management Phoenix Open DraftKings lineups.

Coming off a 20th place finish at the Farmers where he gained a blistering 5.7 strokes on approach, I like the form he is riding. Also, throw in a 7th place finish at this event last year and you have another great mix of recent form and course history.

$8,000 Range

Tom Hoge $8,100

I know I didn’t write him up last week but I bet Tom Hoge at 60/1 last week and it cashed for me as he won Pebble Beach. I have no problem going right back to Hoge after he chased down Spieth en route to his first PGA Tour victory in over 200 starts.

He’s 12th in par 5 scoring 550-600 yards, gained 6.2 strokes tee to green, and playing some of the best golf of his life, I have no reason to hop off. Hoge finished 14th at TPC Summerlin just a few months ago, which is another TPC,  par 71, desert-style golf course. I think Hoge is a great Waste Management Phoenix Open DraftKings play this week.

$7,000 Range

Aaron Wise $7,100

After a gruesome missed cut at the Farmers, I am going right back to Aaron Wise in the 7k range this week. If you want a guy to dominate par 5s, has an excellent tee to green game, and has improved his putting, it’s Aaron Wise.

Wise was one of the best golfers in the swing season and I expect to see that come back to that form very shortly. Highlighted by an 8th at the Shiners and 5th at the CJ Cup, two courses I believe are way more indicative of success at TPC Scottsdale.

$6,000 Range

Adam Hadwin $6,900

When we get down to this range, all we really want out of the guy is for him to make the cut.

Making the cut at WMPO is exactly what Hadwin does well. Adam has made six straight cuts at this event dating back to 2016. Coming off a 16th place finish last week at Pebble, I like the form he is in.

Hadwin also finished 6th at The Shiners a few months ago and that is one of my favorite comps for this week. Hadwin will make the cut and we will get a 6/6 through this week.

Waste Management Phoenix Open DraftKings Optimal Lineup:

Justin Thomas $11,000

Scottie Scheffler $9,100

Tom Hoge $8,100

Talor Gooch $7,800

Aaron Wise $7,100

Adam Hadwin $6,900
