AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am DraftKings – Best Golf DFS Plays in Each Price Range

AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-AmDraftKings: Best Golf DFS Plays in Each Price Range

After a fun week at the Farmers Insurance Open, we are now back to a more volatile PGA Tour Event for our AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Draftkings Picks. This event has a three-course rotation, a field full of celebrities, and an unusual 54-hole cut.

Much like the American Express two weeks ago, all these variables can result in a long shot winner and makes handicapping this week’s event a little tougher. However, I see no reason why we can’t continue this hot streak after I wrote up the winner Luke List as my favorite 7K play last week.

PGA Tour players will be teeing it up on courses, Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill, and Monterey Penisula before a cut is made and the final round is played at world-famous Pebble Beach. Now although we have three different courses, they are all pretty similar and should not be overthought.

All three of these courses are short par 72’s that feature Poa Greens and where Off-the-Tee game is deemphasized. I think the winners of this event have a similar golfer profile and it is easier to figure out what it takes to succeed here.

      Key Stats this week:

  • Strokes Gained Approach
  • Strokes Gained Putting (Poa Greens)
  • Proximity 100-150 yards
  • Birdies or Better Gained
  • 3 Putts Avoided
  • Greens in Regulation

$10,000 range

Patrick Cantlay $11,200

Sometimes when we get to events like this, it is easy to overcomplicate things but I will not be doing that this week with Patrick Cantlay. Head and shoulders, the best golfer in this field, it would be a big mistake not to roster him.

Not only does Cantlay’s game seemingly seem to fit every single course he plays on. He is now back at an event that he loves. Patrick has never missed a cut at this event, finished 3rd last year, and is riding some of the best recent form of anyone in the field. Cantlay ranks first in this field in total strokes gained in this field. Do not overthink this one, play the best player in this field in one of his favorite events

$9,000 Range

Maverick McNealy $9,800

Maverick McNealy makes a lot of sense to a lot of people this week and I think it is for good reason. The California kid with stellar recent form is now coming to the event where he finished second and fifth in his last two appearances.

McNealy gains the most strokes putting on Poa Greens and has excelled at courses where hitting greens in regulations is a premium. Coming off 5 straight made cuts, and a 30th place finish last week gaining 3.1 strokes putting, I like him to contend here. This makes him an exciting AT&T Pebble Beach DraftKings play.

McNealy is from the area and is familiar with all the courses being played this week. Everything is pointing to his first PGA Tour event coming to this California swing.

$8,000 Range

Christiaan Bezuidenhout $8,500

C-Bez is a no-brainer this week for me this week. Highlighted by ranking 1st in this field in proximity from 125-150 yards, 2nd in putting, and 29th in strokes gained around the green. All these traits make him poised for a high finish at Pebble.

Another reason to roster Christiaan is that his biggest weakness is his Off the Tee Game. At a short course, with nonpenal rough and wide fairways, this is just another reason C-Bez is a great AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am DraftKings play this week.

$7,000 Range

Sahith Theegala $7,200

A huge plus for me this week is when a golfer has familiarity with these unique California Poa Greens.  Pepperdine Graduate Theegala has it. Coming off three straight made cuts and a 25th at the Farmers, where he gained 3.8 strokes on approach, I like where his game is at.

Poa is easily the surface he gains the most strokes putting on and I think that this course suits his game better than the past events he has teed it up at. He gained 6.4 strokes on approach from 125-150 yards last week and I think that continues this week.

$6,00o Range

Satoshi Kodaira $6,900

Anytime wedges are going to be important, I will be playing Satoshi Kodaria. He ranks 4th in this field in proximity from 125-150 and 30th in birdies or better gained.

Coming off a 12th place finish at the Sony, Kodiara is playing some great golf and is coming to his best-putting surface, Poa. Satoshi also gained 4.6 strokes on approach in his last event. Another reason I like Kodaria is that his only PGA Tour win came at RBC Heritage, which is another short positional golf course.
