It’s a weekend of Lightweight title showdowns in both Las Vegas Saturday and then, a rare Sunday night PPV in L.A. And, we have some intriguing guests join us to break it all down for the latest edition of the “Big Fight Weekend Podcast.”
Host T.J. Rives is back with Sr. writer Marquis Johns of BigFightWeekend.com to get ready for the Devin Haney vs. JoJo Diaz Saturday night WBC Lightweight title bout in Las Vegas and then, the Sunday battle in L.A. between three division world champ Gervonta Davis and late replacement, Mexican contender, Issac Cruz.
The guys are joined by Jake Donovan of Boxingscene.com who will be covering/writing about the Haney/Diaz battle ringside. Jake gives insight on what’s potentially next for the winner. And with George Kambosos having upset Teofimo Lopez last week for all the 135 lb. titles, is the unbeaten Haney (photo top) a viable opponent to go to Australia to fight him? T.J. Marquis and Jake also go over Davis vs. Cruz, as well and whether Cruz can hang with Davis’ power (23 KOs in 25 straight wins).?
Next, T.J. discusses the Kambosos 12 round thrilling win over Lopez last Saturday further with Sergio “The Latin Snake” Mora of DAZN streaming. Sergio, a former world middleweight contender, was on the call of the Australian’s upset when and has insight on how he did it. Plus, Mora, Todd Grisham and Chris Mannix are on all the call for Haney Diaz Saturday night.
Then, Marquis rejoins T.J. to go over the fight cards Saturday and Sunday and give out some fight picks for “short term investment purposes,” as well. Do they like Haney? Will it go the distance? How soon might Davis KO Cruz??
