Early Week 12 Waiver Wire Fantasy Football Targets

Jimmy Garoppolo (QB) – 11.0% Rostered

After a slow start to the regular season, Jimmy Garoppolo has started to look like his old self again. Despite not racking up a ton of passing yards, he has recorded at least two touchdown passes in each of his last three games. Therefore, he can be a potential starter for a fantasy team that is looking for more consistent quarterback play. Plus, San Francisco faces off against a Minnesota defense that just allowed Aaron Rodgers to throw for 385 passing yards and four passing touchdowns. As a result, expect to see another multiple touchdown game from Jimmy Garoppolo in Week 12.

Elijah Moore (WR) – 41.0% Rostered

Despite being a rookie, Elijah Moore has put up some impressive numbers over the past few weeks. In Moore’s last three games, he has recorded 269 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns. Despite New York’s lackluster record, the Jets have shown an increased desire to throw the football which has resulted in more opportunities for their receivers. Plus, he was targeted a team-high 11 times in Week 11 so he might be the new WR1 on the depth chart.

Taylor Heinicke (QB) – 13.0% Rostered

Even though there are more well-known quarterbacks on the waiver wire, Taylor Heinicke has been balling out over recently. In the last two games, he has recorded 462 passing yards along with four passing touchdowns. Now, he will get to face off against a Seattle defense that allowed Colt McCoy to throw for 328 passing yards and two passing touchdowns in Week 11. As a result, Heinicke is a serious “plug and play” option at the quarterback position.

Adam Trautman (TE) – 7.0% Rostered

While tight ends might not necessarily make or break your fantasy team, having a reliable one makes life significantly easier. Adam Trautman has been extremely consistent over the past month and he is still available in a ton of leagues. In each of New Orleans’ last four games, he has recorded at least six targets so he has become a vital piece within this offense. If you are looking for a tight end that should get at least six points every week while also possessing touchdown upside, then Adam Trautman is your guy.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling (WR) – 8.0% Rostered

Anytime you can acquire a wide receiver that plays with an elite quarterback, there is upside to be found. Luckily for Marquez Valdes-Scantling, he gets to catch passes from Aaron Rodgers and it paid off in Week 11. Last week, he recorded four receptions for 123 yards and one touchdown. Plus, he received more playing time since starting wide receiver Allen Lazard was inactive due to a shoulder injury. With a matchup against a Los Angeles defense that is allowing 241.7 passing yards per game, Valdes-Scantling should play well.

Cedrick Wilson (WR)- 1.0% Rostered

The Dallas Cowboys struggled offensively against the Kansas City Chiefs but they have a significantly easier matchup in Week 12. After having to play outdoors, the Cowboys will be able to return home for a Thanksgiving matchup against the Raiders. Luckily, Las Vegas is allowing 1.9 passing touchdowns per game which ranks tied for 27th in the league so Dallas’ wide receivers should have a solid afternoon. With Amari Cooper already being ruled out due to the coronavirus and with CeeDee Lamb being questionable due to a concussion, Cedrick Wilson should be one of the starting wide receivers. Last week, Wilson was targeted seven times so he had some opportunities to makes plays. Expect a similar script to unfold on Thursday.

Cam Newton (QB)- 44.0% Rostered

After rejoining the Carolina Panthers two weeks ago, Cam Newton has looked like a quality fantasy quarterback. In Week 10, he was able to record a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown despite barely seeing the field. In Week 11, he built on that performance as he recorded two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown against Washington. Now, he will get to face off against a Miami defense that is allowing 273.8 passing yards per game which is the fifth-most in the league. Plus, he has a ton of upside due to his elite rushing ability. His stock is rising as a prime Week 12 Waiver Wire candidate.
