Gervonta Davis Scored KO of Year?! | Big Fight Weekend (Ep. 13)

Gervonta Davis Scored KO of Year?! | Big Fight Weekend Podcast (Ep. 13)

It’s a special recap edition of our show, as we had multiple important World Championship fight cards this past weekend. Host T.J. Rives and Marquis Johns, Sr. Writer of BigFightWeekend.com, are back to go over all of it with insight and analysis.

First, the guys discuss the Friday night TKO win by unbeaten, Middleweight contender Jaime Munguia in the Golden Boy main event in California. Mungia is looking for 160 lb. title shot in early 2021

Then, they give their thoughts on Ukranian Heavyweight contender, Oleksandr Usyk and his decision win Saturday night in London in the Matchroom Boxing main event over Dereck Chisora. Is Usyk truly a Heavyweight or is he finding out now that his big punches that made him a Crusierweight World Champion aren’t as impactful in the biggest division in boxing?

Next, the guys discuss a candidate for “KO of the Year,” as Gervonta “Tank” Davis remained undefeated and bombed Leo Santa Cruz out with one, big left uppercut (above) in the sixth round of their WBA Jr. Lightweight title PPV main event in San Antonio, TX.

What are Marquis’ thoughts on the knockout and it’s place with other big KO moments in 2020?

And what’s up next for Davis, who is clearly a rising mega- star, at either at 130 or 135 lbs.??

Finally, the guys also cover another impressive KO win. This one by Japanese unbeaten fighter and World Bantamweight Champ, Naoya “The Monster” Inoue. The Monster disposed of Australian Jason Moloney, also with a single big punch in the 7th round of their 118 lb. World Title fight in the Top Rank Boxing “bubble” in Vegas on Saturday night.

Inoue is one of the most exciting fighters that most in the U.S. have only briefly seen or hear of, so, what’s next for him too?

Hear it all and make sure to subscribe/5 star rate and review “Big Fight Weekend” on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc.!!
