It’s the final night of this weekend’s Madden Mayhem. If you caught the last Cowboys’ and Bengals’ matchups from a week ago, they certainly didn’t disappoint when it came to entertaining games.
Tonight should be no different with perhaps the NFL’s best rivalry, Cowboys vs Redskins, as well as the battle of Ohio, Bengals vs Browns. Cue the classic Sam Wyche comment “You don’t live in Cleveland” sound bite. Let’s go!

Washington Redskins @ Dallas Cowboys
Line: Cowboys -9.5
Sunday 5pm PST
This is the way football should be. Redskins at Cowboys for the NFC title. Two of the most classic franchises in NFL history going at it for all the marbles. The Redskins pulled off the huge upset over the Philadelphia Eagles and they did it by the solid QB play of 2nd year pro Dwayne Haskins who showed quite a bit of growth from year one to two.
Derrius Guice ran tough for the Redskins and they’ll need him and veteran Adrian Peterson to come through with a solid ground attack again if they want to pull yet another upset. The real story of the Redskins upset in Philadelphia tough was Haskins and the air. The Redskins got big games from wideouts Kelvin Harmon, Terry McLaurin & tight end Jeremy Sprinkle. If they can duplicate their production from a week ago then the Skins are a live dog in Dallas.
The Cowboys got quite the scare from the Daniel Jones led New York Giants and if anything are very lucky to be here after the Giants outplayed the Cowboys. Dak Prescott is going to need to play a better game if the Cowboys want to advance. Ezekial Elliott is going to get his that we know but can the Redskins contain Prescott and his passing attack.
Dallas was able to find Amari Cooper, Michael Gallop & rookie CeeDee Lamb down the stretch of the Giants game. Look for them to be much more of a factor early on against the Redskins.
Defensively the Cowboys gave the Giants some big plays but when the defense played absolutely huge when they really needed them to. Demarcus Lawrence, Gerald McCoy made Daniel Jones really uncomfortable in overtime. Linebackers Sean Lee & Leighton Vander Esch player big as well. The Cowboys secondary will need to step up against a surprising Washington receiving core.
I know the Cowboys’ Madden rating is much better than Washington’s, but throw the ratings and the records out the window. Give me the Redskins plus the points and the under.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns
Line: Browns -6.5
Sunday 7pm PST
We gave you the battle of Ohio in Degen Madness when Ohio State took on Dayton in the epic college basketball tournament and now against all odds we are giving you the Bengals at Browns in another battle of Ohio but for the AFC north title.
Both these teams played in crazy games a week ago where both teams had to battle from behind to win their games. The NFL’s top pick in QB Joe Burrow was about as impressive as you could possibly be in a NFL debut.
Burrow played poised and turnover free and dished the ball well to A.J. Green, Tee Higgins and tight end Drew Sample. If Burrow can continue to play turnover free football the Bengals should be in this game. One of the big reasons for Burrows success was actually the run game of the Bengals. Joe Mixon played absolutely huge against the Ravens and he’ll need to do that again against the Browns if the Bengals are going to pull the upset.
Defensively the Bengals were solid getting big games from Carlos Dunlap, Geno Atkins and rookie Akeem Davis-Gaither. They’ll need to get after it again tonight because the Browns not only had a strong game on the ground but Baker Mayfield was able to stretch plays by using his mobility in the pocket.
The Browns offense played solid against the Steelers and well balanced but perhaps they’ll need to be even better tonight. Baker Mayfield will need to limit the turnovers and at the same time take advantage of maybe the leagues best wide receiver tandem in Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham. The running back duo of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt played big against the Steelers and they’ll need another solid outing tonight.
The real story of why the Browns were able to take down the Steelers was on the defensive side of the ball where the Browns forced the Steelers into three turnovers. Two of those turn over resulting in defensive touchdowns for the Browns. Myles Garrett and Oliver Vernon will need to get after the rookie quarterback Burrow and force him into uncomfortable throws. Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams will yet again be ready to make a big play defensively that could shift the tide in the game.
Burrow-mania has begun in Cincinnati. Why should I fade the most impressive rookie we’ve seen in all of Madden Mayhem? Give me the Bengals and the under tonight!
