It’s a brand new edition of the only digital radio show devoted exclusively to Underdogs (when the games resume) and we have some interesting developments and stories to tell. Host T.J. Rives is back and ready to talk everything from UFC to the NBA to the passing of Dolphins/NFL coaching legend Don Shula and even, Michael, Scottie and the “Last Dance” documentary series on ESPN.
First, Brian Edwards of Vegas Insider and Majorwager.com leads off talking about the potential resumption of the NBA and what might the playoffs look like for matchups and lengths of series, when it can resume? Brian also has great insight on the UFC fight card that will kick that sport back off this weekend. He also gives out three underdog predictions on fighters to potentially pull the upsets Saturday night.
Next, T.J. is joined by his friend and former longtime NFL Public Relations executive, Chip Namias, who worked with the Miami Dolphins and Don Shula throughout the 1980s-90s, including the amazing Dan Marino record breaking 1984 season that ended with Miami in the Super Bowl.
Chip tells great stories of the intersection of Shula, who died at age 90 earlier this week and the 80s hit TV show “Miami Vice” with a hilarious meeting with actor Don Johnson in the victorious Miami locker room. Further, Chip recounts the occasion where the all time winningest coach needed some info and was calling his house….only Chip didn’t recognize his legendary boss’ voice! The rest is let’s just say….legendary.
Finally, T.C. Martin of his own self titled show in Las Vegas is back on the podcast talking more about the NBA resuming and could Vegas host in part or whole, the resumption of games? Next T.J. and T.C. debate the ESPN/Chicago Bulls “Last Dance” episodes to date and T.C. has interesting insight of former teammates not being happy with Jordan for revealing locker room life and comments etc.
Hear it all as part of this edition of “3 Dog Thursday!”
