Do you just, you just pack it in? No. You go to Denmark and you get Denmark back. You push the Nazis back. Was it easy to storm the beach of Normandy? We were working backwards from a problem statement of this. Sean wasn’t really going to be betting on soccer or e-sports, right? We, we needed something real.

Speaker 4 (19m 56s): yeah, it’s insane. I mean you look at NASCAR’s ratings normally, I don’t know if they get a million eyes on a race these days. And uh, I just did an interview with a local, uh, Palm Springs, uh, sports station. Hello? Is that code for something shine? No. And uh, and they were, the reporter asked me what, what’s different and what’s the same? And I go, well it’s what’s different, what reporting that is. Well, what’s different is obviously it’s you’re watching someone a video game, but I said when we did the preview game and we kind of throw out a line that we had just come up with on the spot before we did it and the line was actually in play the entire game and you realize you, you, you have that same rush, you have that same visceral reaction like you feel like you have and now that you can actually have money on it, you get that same little tingle as a gambler that you get watching March madness.

So it’s not quite the same. But that rush is still there watching these games. And DJ. I don’t know if you’re a big video game guy, but like NBA two K 20 watching it live, it looks really realistic. Like the simulation is insanely high quality.

I’ve seen what it looks like and I’m, I’m looking forward to this and in in in particular we will never know what would have actually happened if Dayton had gotten that number one seed with an NBA caliber player, OB Tom and by the way a topic has declared for the NBA draft in the last 24 to 48 hours. Whenever you’re hearing in the sports gambling podcast here, so he’s not coming back, they’re never going to play the 2020 tournament, but we were not going to know how they would’ve done in a, in a matchup with Kansas in a final four or a big time sweet 16 game.

If there may be playing Michigan state or something, we will now have some idea through Degen madness what it looks like computer simulated and the best is you guys don’t know, this wasn’t stimulated in advance. This is going to be unfolding live and you guys were doing the commentary. So I love that. Uh, it’s it just kind of spice it up and add to it because you’re going to see it in real time like the audience and you’re going to be just as surprised as everybody. If Dayton wins by 10 wins by or gets blown out. I love it.

And especially with our commentary, it’s going to be a lot of fun. TJ, you are a actual uh, sports broadcasts or sports and answer. You did a, uh, we’re doing some of the conference tournaments unfortunately before those things got clipped away.

What, uh, do you have any sort of tips from one broadcast or to another? They can pass.

Speaker 5 (25m 34s): You guys are going about this, you know, just like these, these announcers for CBS would have been doing the NCAA tournament. The main thing is you got to let the action breathe, let the drama build and know the right time to get in and get out. And you might have to use your, you know, your Gus Johnson there. Uh,

Speaker 5 (25m 59s): The late Dick Enberg what the, Oh ma, you know, whatever you want to use, uh, in there at the right time because you know there’s gonna be drama. You know, there’s going to be a close finish or whatever. You guys will know what to do though. Your pros. What am I telling you? So I’m just looking forward to it. If we can’t have the real tournament, I’m loving what you’re doing. Uh, with the Degen madness here in the, in the simulation. And I’m very curious, how is San Diego state or Gonzaga and going to be in there with the big boys in this simulation.

And we’re all, we’re all gonna find out, uh, to get, Hey, quick story. I know you were intending, I’m not bringing up a sword sharp object just to bring it up. I’m just trying to relate something. You were intending to be in Vegas for the first two days of the tournament, which would’ve been last week. I’ve never been there for the first two days, but I was there. This is sweet 16 weekends, sweet 16 elite eight. I was their sweet 16 of the 2005 I believe I have it correct. The 2005 a tournament.

Um, and that one was Arizona and Illinois. Uh, doing battle with Illinois is the number one seed as I recollect now going backwards that yeah, that was the Oh five tournament because Illinois had been on beaten for a lot of that year. So I was only there for sweet 16 Thursday night. We were flying out a late night on the red eye and I was at the Caesar’s palace sports book is the only time in my life. I’ve been around Vegas for March cause usually I’m working, I’m doing what we’re doing now. I’m doing live play by play, that kind of stuff.

I can only tell you because it looked like Arizona was gonna win that game. Uh, Ludo Olson’s team, uh, they’re back in back in Oh five. Um, and that was Dee Williams and um, uh, the Illinois team that was unbeaten, they came roaring back the game. The regional was in Chicago, the sweet 16. There were so many Arizona fans, Ryan and Sean that were in the Caesar’s palace sports book that had just been relentless of noxious, going berserk until the final fight, three minutes.

And then they’re horrified. And now suddenly there’s fights breaking out in sports book and, and Illinois making the comeback and there’s chicken bones flying and, and beer bottles. And it was insanity. I don’t know that you can match that level with Degen madness but I’m sure hoping. So that’s my point. That’s the only time I’ve been to Vegas for this, that Illinois comeback is Epic. When they were down like 15, with like four minutes to go and came back to win the game. I’m looking for something similar here on this, uh, with, with what you’re doing with Degen.

Madness that’s the only story I can relate to it from being in Vegas

Speaker 4 (28m 46s): show. And that might’ve been the first year I was out there. I also remember being in Vegas for that. That was the three headed monster of Darren Williams Luther head and Dee Brown deep Brown. Yeah, I uh, I definitely remember being in Vegas for that also a fifth, 15 years ago and you have brought up a sore subject, but don’t worry, we have the cure here at this sports not going to be a sour 16. It’s going to be a sweet, sweet tea. Jen madness before we, uh, before we move over to some a bucks quarterback talk, which certainly there’s a lot to break down there.

Can I get you, uh, to throw out taking a look at the bracket, uh, taking, look at the, the, the kind of setup we have. There you have any, do you have any teams you like this is a 30 team bracket. Of course, a couple of teams that probably don’t have business being in the tournament like UNC, I made it in. We’ve gotten a lot of complaints about that now. Again, it’s the ultimate, the ultimate charity

Speaker 5 (29m 43s): because they’ve had the worst, say, seasoned maybe, uh, in the last hundred years of North Carolina basketball. And you guys just go ahead and, and, and put them in for Degen madness purposes. Uh, again, I’m curious as to what the simulator’s going to do with San Diego state. You know, they, they got off to the 26 and O start, uh, but then they had a lot of close games at the end of the year, including losing the conference tournament championship game on a last second three pointer to Utah state. How are they gonna fare for Degen madness purposes?

Um, I, I’m just interested, I really loved Michigan state coming on strong as well at the end of the year in the big 10. Always a big fan of Izzo in March. We’re going to do, and all of your simulations here. I’m looking forward to it.

Speaker 2 (30m 28s): Well and I, I think, uh, six 11 matchup. I think we could be looking at a scenario there where the computer might like the, the logical underdog but not real life under dog now. Now is Oh, is great in the short turnaround. Now I don’t know if that’s factored into the same model. Was that the same for virtual Thomas? One we don’t know. And it’s funny cause they don’t actually have the coaches like this is in the game. They kind of do. Actually I once we saw we didn’t th they’re, they’re very loose.

The Roy Williams is pretty funny. It looks more like Scott van pelt. Uh, but, but it’s uh, you know, the guy, the guy put some effort into it. I’ll, I’ll say that now as someone who’s been way too deep into a video game for the past five days, I realize we could have done a little bit more. But I’m happy where we are. So if that Colorado team in the packs in region in the 13 four game beats Kentucky, then we got issues with the integrity of the, of the Kramer simulation formula somewhere on there.

Because my hand is up, you know, so many times on these podcasts and radio host at sports radio guy, you spout all kinds of opinions or you hear them spout all kinds of opinions and they never, they never met one that they couldn’t go back on and try to act like they didn’t say or it wasn’t their take or it wasn’t their opinion or I’m not wrong about that. I was wrong. I thought he was never gonna leave new England. I thought the only way he doesn’t play for the Patriots as if he is retiring.

And so, uh, how fractured must’ve been behind the scenes with he and bill and wanting a change that he simply wanted. What is the best opportunity that’s out there besides the Patriots besides Fox? So when he became available, Bruce areas in particular, the bucks coach was very confident, uh, that, Hey, we’ve got as good a chance as anybody as luring him with the weapons, especially Mike Evans and Chris God, when the outstanding receivers, the past catching tight ends. But still guys, I’m not gonna lie to you.

I’m sitting back just like everybody else going. You gotta be kidding me? He is actually going to choose the Buccaneers. It’s hard to fathom him playing for anybody else, but I mean, even if, if he chose the LA chargers, that makes more sense. That’s Hollywood. That’s the number two medium market. He needs to sell tickets. He’s uh, the chargers need to sell tickets. I mean, they’re going to have, I mean, if they, if they don’t do something, if they don’t get cam Newton or something out there in Southern California where you guys are, the chargers are going to have like 57 season ticket holders.

Not 5,700, not 50, 7,000. They’re going to have 57 season ticket holders and that new sale at the StubHub center and now, yes, Tyra Taylor opening up

So, uh, yeah, this is a, this is, uh, a wild time to be associated with their game broadcast on the radio and all of their ancillary programming and he’s excited. He got the phone numbers of a lot of his teammates and he’s been calling him, you know, that’s the wild thing with all of this isolation and the Corona virus and social distancing.

He can’t be around them right now. The facilities closed. You can’t have any kinds of workouts or any kind of film sessions with the coaches. It’s all being done remotely. So we’ll see how it plays out. But yeah. What does, what a story. I can’t overemphasize what a story it has been in our market, in our area. Again, I have limited at Brian, you were talking about running out of the house when you were all excited about the computer simulation. So I get out of the house, so I’m with my twins, my twin six year old girls. We go for walks or whatever. The neighbors are stopping me. What about Brady? You know, we’re keeping our distance 50 feet.

The lawn guy showed up to come do the lawn and he’s talking to me over the mower about it. What about Brady? You know, it’s the same. It’s the same thing everywhere around here. It’s going to be a wild time to see him suit up in Buccaneers colors.

And I think we probably, when it, when it started happening, it didn’t seem real just because it’s a Tom but he’s not going to the box. Yeah. It just, it’s weird. Well, if you’re Tom Brady, why not throw to two? Just absolute beasts and I think it’s, I think it’s going to be three B’s. I am predicting that in Tonio Brown will be joining a Tom Brady down in Tampa Bay and now that Breshad Perriman has signed with the jets, uh, it, it kind of opens up the whole for Antonio Brown to come down there.

Speaker 5 (39m 18s): not on to something. I think you’re on something on that. One I as in, as in you’ve, you’ve ingested something and we need to drug test you. I just, I don’t see a way they bring him in and maybe I’m wrong. I don’t have insight from Jason light and Bruce areas and Brady is going to have influence. Here’s the other thing, there’s NFL discipline that is looming at some point we’re gonna throw the old Brown, I mean they have not dropped the hammer on him as of yet for all the transgressions poral off the field over the course of the last year. Plus for the personal conduct policy.

So I just, I don’t think you need it. It’s, it’s an unwelcome distraction. Uh, the Patriots realized it right at the very beginning and, and use the loophole to get out of their deal with him immediately. And you’re right. I mean, the bucks are filthy rich with weapons at wide receiver and tied in. So, let’s see. I would much more believe Edelman’s under contract, but I would much more believe they work a deal to get Julian Edelman if he wants out of new England. I don’t know. I mean the Patriots would have to cut him or trade him if he wants out of new England.

I would believe that. One Oh, I could see.

Speaker 4 (40m 25s): Yeah, I can see them. And boy Brady I’m sure he’s going to figure that out. I could see the Patriots trading Edelman for a fourth round or you don’t think that’s a bell checks just licking his chops to get some more valued. Get some more guys in there. He’s a, he’s had like six concussions, Bella checks ready to get rid of them. Now the other side of the coin is of course James Swinson, we’d call him on the podcast. Jamison Winson because here he gives you the head at, you know, much like whiskey. You don’t even know where it’s going to end up. The highs, the lows.

Uh, you know, he’s kind of all over the place. Very entertaining guy to watch. Fun to avid fantasy, lot of turnovers. That was kind of the demise of the buck season considering, uh, how, how well they were able to move the ball for a large portion of it. But where do you see Jamus ending up? It seems like it could he be without a team here? It seems like you certainly starting quarter, uh, starting caliber quarterback, just finding the right spot and cutting down on turnover. So where do you think,

Speaker 5 (41m 23s): I mean right now there’s not a starting quarterback situation that you would point to and say, yeah, that’s, that’s where he’s going to land. There’s really not one he maybe has to look at the chargers as cam Newton going to beat him to it and go and compete with tie rod Taylor in LA. Maybe it’s three hours to the North of me in Jacksonville where they traded Nick foals to Chicago. And maybe James comes into that situation where Gardner Minshew is, I know you’re big fans of Mike Leach and the wazoo program and man, she was a stud quarterback there and he had a decent season and won some games in Jacksonville in spot duty, in place of folds on a bad team.

But if Minshew doesn’t play well or he’s heard, who else is there, who can they turn to? So maybe that’s where James goes to. Um, or another situation like that. Kinda like Ryan Tannehill and Tennessee. We keep comparing it to that, that, you know, you go and you wait your turn. And Tennessee got fed up with Mariota and not moving the ball enough, not throwing the ball well enough and went to Tanna Hill in the middle of the last season and they rolled. The rest is history all the way through the playoffs to the AFC title game. So James is probably in that boat where he’s going to have to take very little guaranteed money, go somewhere, work hard, wait for his chance.

And maybe he becomes the starter because of injury or because of poor player, the other quarterback or maybe he doesn’t start very much at all in 2020 we will see, I do know this, I’ll say this publicly again here for all the means and all of the making fun of him and a lot of it was deserved for the interceptions in the poor play. He was a standup guy with me. He could have been a jerk to me guys on interviews on Buccaneers radio post-game, right after games. Uh, I have nothing but good things to say about how he treated me. I wish him well.

Let’s see if he can succeed somewhere else. Uh, and, and the bucks here, obviously you have replaced him with a hall of Famer, a first ballot hall of Famer. And if the bugs do well and James does well, I’m fine with that. Uh, whether or not he gets another shot to start this year, I don’t know. But again, now this Corona thing, who knows where to ends up because uh, the physical and the medical aspect, that’s a, that’s a real monkey wrench. You know. Then Cam’s going to San Diego. I show that I still have a weird feeling that cam ends up in Las Vegas and that Gruden trades on TJ off dab.

Mariota they have car now. You got cam there too? No, I think, I think they’re going to came in Marietta. I think he’s going to move on from Derek Carr. That’s my prediction. And maybe it just is to marry Yoda, but I, I wouldn’t be surprised. John Gruen considers himself a QB whisper and the idea that he can take a former NFL MVP, a guy who’s been to the Superbowl and just dial them in a little bit. Uh, I just don’t think gluten’s a Derrick a car fan at all. So I think he’s going to move on from him and Derek Carr fan except for David Carr.

And I think with Michigan, uh, this is, this is a team we’ve seen all year. You know, we’ve seen all year in the virtual circuit.

So I didn’t want to affect the number, but what I’m seeing here is I should have trusted the data.

What I’m seeing here is people are looking at the data, it’s moving the numbers, the total, you know, this was right on where we saw the aperture is coming in. But again, I think, you know, Butler winning 63% of the simulate the millions of simulations I ran, I, I’m sticking with the private school here, Sean. I think, not only that, but I think Butler plays the style of virtual ball that gives them a shot to police, call them Butler’s CPU.

They are, they are alive. Dog in the second round against the day and fire.

Speaker 4 (57m 49s): th th I’m going UNC here. Plus 10 and a half, two reasons. One, everyone is complaining that UNC is in the tournament, right? I mean that seems to be the, we haven’t really got any complaints, but the biggest complaint is what is UNC doing in the tournament? Yeah. And to me, whenever there’s that team that you say has no business being in the tournament, wild, always squeeze out a little win. Squeeze out a cover. Gonzaga already looking ahead.

Uh, and man, I was going to take over, but the fact that it already got that up, I’m going under again, Cole, Anthony on North Carolina is an absolute monster. He can act, he can get it hot, hot, hot. But boy, the Gonzaga Bulldogs are loaded. The other, the other thing here

Sports gambling podcast.com and what I would say here, because this is another one where the data, the, the data suggests the, the spread should be a little lower. Uh, we saw these games coming in around nine and a half, closer to nine and a half points, but, but the pace at which I expect parts of this game to be played and the willingness to Chuck the three-pointers this, this total, here’s my projection for this game.

I don’t think the number is going to be that close to the total because I think there’s going to be a lot of three pointers they’re made. They’re made. If they’re the myths, I, that sounds exciting. Here’s my thing, Shawn, you’re, you’re bringing it back. You’re bringing it back to good old fashion public Joe public, Sean Green, and as NC Nick pointed out in his fabulous preview of the first day of games and in Degen madness public dogs have fleas.

I fully expect this North Carolina tar heel team to be a public dog here. Gonzaga gets out to an early start. Shocking Sega roles winning big. The number goes on under the total now that it’s 87 and a half. Well, what I have to say about UNC is I don’t think the computer can factor in the chemistry issues that UNC has. And really UNC has been a team that’s just underperformed, right?

I mean on your joke. But there are chemistry elements like characteristics in this case. I don’t, I think the computer may overlook that a little bit. This UNC DRO team drove Roy Williams crazy. It seemed like it was genuinely going to kill him. His virtual Roy Williams. Crazy. No, but that’s what I’m saying. Like I don’t think the computer is factoring that in enough. So what does that tell you? A lot of variants. And when Maryland was winning, they were winning big. Uh, I think they have the better roster here. I think they have obviously the better upside. It feels like it may be a little closer games. So if you can get Memphis plus for, I think as soon as you see that you hop on that. So I feel like there’s a couple of games where the SIM data doesn’t back up the eye test just from when I’ve been like actually watching. So you’re not afraid to take a position? Like I like Creighton’s a team that when I look at the data, they don’t pop off to me.

Like Memphis, if you look at just the data, you’re like, Memphis has a legit shot here. They’re alive. Dog but when I watched this Creighton team play I Memphis, maybe they hang for a half, but they’re not going to hang the whole time. Creighton roles. Yeah. Uh, I’m going Memphis. Speaker 4 (19m 56s): yeah, it’s insane. I mean you look at NASCAR’s ratings normally, I don’t know if they get a million eyes on a race these days. And uh, I just did an interview with a local, uh, Palm Springs, uh, sports station. Hello? Is that code for something shine? No. And uh, and they were, the reporter asked me what, what’s different and what’s the same? And I go, well it’s what’s different, what reporting that is. Well, what’s different is obviously it’s you’re watching someone a video game, but I said when we did the preview game and we kind of throw out a line that we had just come up with on the spot before we did it and the line was actually in play the entire game and you realize you, you, you have that same rush, you have that same visceral reaction like you feel like you have and now that you can actually have money on it, you get that same little tingle as a gambler that you get watching March madness.

So it’s not quite the same. But that rush is still there watching these games. And DJ. I don’t know if you’re a big video game guy, but like NBA two K 20 watching it live, it looks really realistic. Like the simulation is insanely high quality.

And we’re all, we’re all gonna find out, uh, to get, Hey, quick story. I know you were intending, I’m not bringing up a sword sharp object just to bring it up. I’m just trying to relate something. You were intending to be in Vegas for the first two days of the tournament, which would’ve been last week. I’ve never been there for the first two days, but I was there. This is sweet 16 weekends, sweet 16 elite eight. I was their sweet 16 of the 2005 I believe I have it correct. The 2005 a tournament.

Um, and that one was Arizona and Illinois. Uh, doing battle with Illinois is the number one seed as I recollect now going backwards that yeah, that was the Oh five tournament because Illinois had been on beaten for a lot of that year. So I was only there for sweet 16 Thursday night. We were flying out a late night on the red eye and I was at the Caesar’s palace sports book is the only time in my life. I’ve been around Vegas for March cause usually I’m working, I’m doing what we’re doing now. I’m doing live play by play, that kind of stuff.

I can only tell you because it looked like Arizona was gonna win that game. Uh, Ludo Olson’s team, uh, they’re back in back in Oh five. Um, and that was Dee Williams and um, uh, the Illinois team that was unbeaten, they came roaring back the game. The regional was in Chicago, the sweet 16. There were so many Arizona fans, Ryan and Sean that were in the Caesar’s palace sports book that had just been relentless of noxious, going berserk until the final fight, three minutes.

And then they’re horrified. And now suddenly there’s fights breaking out in sports book and, and Illinois making the comeback and there’s chicken bones flying and, and beer bottles. And it was insanity. I don’t know that you can match that level with Degen madness but I’m sure hoping. So that’s my point. That’s the only time I’ve been to Vegas for this, that Illinois comeback is Epic. When they were down like 15, with like four minutes to go and came back to win the game. I’m looking for something similar here on this, uh, with, with what you’re doing with Degen.

Madness that’s the only story I can relate to it from being in Vegas

That was the three headed monster of Darren Williams Luther head and Dee Brown deep Brown. Of course, a couple of teams that probably don’t have business being in the tournament like UNC, I made it in. We’ve gotten a lot of complaints about that now. Again, it’s the ultimate, the ultimate charity

Speaker 5 (29m 43s): because they’ve had the worst, say, seasoned maybe, uh, in the last hundred years of North Carolina basketball. And you guys just go ahead and, and, and put them in for Degen madness purposes. Uh, again, I’m curious as to what the simulator’s going to do with San Diego state. You know, they, they got off to the 26 and O start, uh, but then they had a lot of close games at the end of the year, including losing the conference tournament championship game on a last second three pointer to Utah state. How are they gonna fare for Degen madness purposes?

Um, I, I’m just interested, I really loved Michigan state coming on strong as well at the end of the year in the big 10. Always a big fan of Izzo in March. We’re going to do, and all of your simulations here. I’m looking forward to it.

Speaker 2 (30m 28s): Well and I, I think, uh, six 11 matchup. I think we could be looking at a scenario there where the computer might like the, the logical underdog but not real life under dog now. Now is Oh, is great in the short turnaround. Now I don’t know if that’s factored into the same model. Was that the same for virtual Thomas? One we don’t know. And it’s funny cause they don’t actually have the coaches like this is in the game. They kind of do. Actually I once we saw we didn’t th they’re, they’re very loose.

The Roy Williams is pretty funny. It looks more like Scott van pelt. Uh, but, but it’s uh, you know, the guy, the guy put some effort into it. I’ll, I’ll say that now as someone who’s been way too deep into a video game for the past five days, I realize we could have done a little bit more. But I’m happy where we are. We have the perfect amount of games. It’s going to take us a month to get through this. We have now we’ve tied it everyone over until theoretical lockdown ending maybe in California. Hopefully at times perfectly.

I was wrong. I thought he was never gonna leave new England. I thought the only way he doesn’t play for the Patriots as if he is retiring.

So we’ll see how it plays out. But yeah. What does, what a story. I can’t overemphasize what a story it has been in our market, in our area. Again, I have limited at Brian, you were talking about running out of the house when you were all excited about the computer simulation. So I get out of the house, so I’m with my twins, my twin six year old girls. We go for walks or whatever. The neighbors are stopping me. What about Brady? You know, we’re keeping our distance 50 feet.

The lawn guy showed up to come do the lawn and he’s talking to me over the mower about it. What about Brady? You know, it’s the same. It’s the same thing everywhere around here. It’s going to be a wild time to see him suit up in Buccaneers colors.

Here’s the other thing, there’s NFL discipline that is looming at some point we’re gonna throw the old Brown, I mean they have not dropped the hammer on him as of yet for all the transgressions poral off the field over the course of the last year. Plus for the personal conduct policy.

So I just, I don’t think you need it. It’s, it’s an unwelcome distraction. Uh, the Patriots realized it right at the very beginning and, and use the loophole to get out of their deal with him immediately. And you’re right. Uh, you know, he’s kind of all over the place. Very entertaining guy to watch. Fun to avid fantasy, lot of turnovers. That was kind of the demise of the buck season considering, uh, how, how well they were able to move the ball for a large portion of it. But where do you see Jamus ending up? It seems like it could he be without a team here? It seems like you certainly starting quarter, uh, starting caliber quarterback, just finding the right spot and cutting down on turnover. So where do you think,

Speaker 5 (41m 23s): I mean right now there’s not a starting quarterback situation that you would point to and say, yeah, that’s, that’s where he’s going to land. There’s really not one he maybe has to look at the chargers as cam Newton going to beat him to it and go and compete with tie rod Taylor in LA. Maybe it’s three hours to the North of me in Jacksonville where they traded Nick foals to Chicago. And maybe James comes into that situation where Gardner Minshew is, I know you’re big fans of Mike Leach and the wazoo program and man, she was a stud quarterback there and he had a decent season and won some games in Jacksonville in spot duty, in place of folds on a bad team.

But if Minshew doesn’t play well or he’s heard, who else is there, who can they turn to? So maybe that’s where James goes to. Um, or another situation like that. Kinda like Ryan Tannehill and Tennessee. We keep comparing it to that, that, you know, you go and you wait your turn. And Tennessee got fed up with Mariota and not moving the ball enough, not throwing the ball well enough and went to Tanna Hill in the middle of the last season and they rolled. The rest is history all the way through the playoffs to the AFC title game. So James is probably in that boat where he’s going to have to take very little guaranteed money, go somewhere, work hard, wait for his chance.

And maybe he becomes the starter because of injury or because of poor player, the other quarterback or maybe he doesn’t start very much at all in 2020 we will see, I do know this, I’ll say this publicly again here for all the means and all of the making fun of him and a lot of it was deserved for the interceptions in the poor play. So I didn’t want to affect the number, but what I’m seeing here is I should have trusted the data.

What I’m seeing here is people are looking at the data, it’s moving the numbers, the total, you know, this was right on where we saw the aperture is coming in. But again, I think, you know, Butler winning 63% of the simulate the millions of simulations I ran, I, I’m sticking with the private school here, Sean. I think, not only that, but I think Butler plays the style of virtual ball that gives them a shot to police, call them Butler’s CPU.

They are, they are alive. Dog in the second round against the day and fire.

I don’t think the number is going to be that close to the total because I think there’s going to be a lot of three pointers they’re made. They’re made. If they’re the myths, I, that sounds exciting. Here’s my thing, Shawn, you’re, you’re bringing it back. You’re bringing it back to good old fashion public Joe public, Sean Green, and as NC Nick pointed out in his fabulous preview of the first day of games and in Degen madness public dogs have fleas.

I fully expect this North Carolina tar heel team to be a public dog here. Gonzaga gets out to an early start. Shocking Sega roles winning big. The number goes on under the total now that it’s 87 and a half. Well, what I have to say about UNC is I don’t think the computer can factor in the chemistry issues that UNC has. And really UNC has been a team that’s just underperformed, right?

I mean on your joke. But there are chemistry elements like characteristics in this case. I don’t, I think the computer may overlook that a little bit. This UNC DRO team drove Roy Williams crazy. It seemed like it was genuinely going to kill him. His virtual Roy Williams. Crazy. No, but that’s what I’m saying. Like I don’t think the computer is factoring that in enough. And I think if you look at your very well laid out, uh, data points regarding, uh, you know, Cole, Anthony, um, you know, a Garrison, Brooks, these are, and what do we got?

Uh, Armando bucket. Those are three guys with plus 75 ratings in your starting five. No, I mean, I think it’s going to be a closet. I hope it’s close for the fans and watch out for the live dog and N.C.A.A.. of course if you throw in a bet or it, let’s say you go crazy and think UNC is going to win your bracket, you’re like, ah, why should I watch this anymore? Live wagering. I will say that you have real onions. If you’re gonna take the under in this one though, cause I do think there’s gonna be moments where you’re like, Oh my goodness.

The Ohio state Buckeyes traveled to take on the virtual Auburn tigers where the, the Auburn tigers are minus well projected to open at minus a half 82 as the total. And if you like that number, make sure you get it. Make sure you just post up on my bookie that ag waiting for that line to drop. Yeah, we’re expecting these numbers to drop sometime.

Again, Auburn minus a half 82 is the total. This Ohio state team was a team I had circled coming into my tournament prep that I, I thought this was a team that could do something. I do like Charles Barkley. Charles Barkley is not part of Degen madness I’m picking against the Auburn tigers going Ohio state. I’m going to go over here, uh, perhaps because I just want to have an over perhaps because I think both of these teams can go on scoring spurts.

The wind percentage for Auburn is 58% and I’m getting them at minus a half. Yeah. Show me the data and let the computer do the work for you.

Speaker 2 (1h 2m 59s): So if I could pull back the curtain on this one, this was an interesting, uh, a bit of data science because Auburn, while they one more of the games and overall average, they did outscore the Ohio state team over this number of games that I simulated, Ohio state won. They won, they won more convincingly.

Speaker 4 (1h 3m 21s): Well, so and so, and I think Auburn has a much higher ceiling as you point out in your simulation there max score was 65 compared to Ohio state’s 50 to look at you. Most of it into the numbers. I’m also going over here, but the fact that we already don’t agree on these first three picks means that, uh, I think for the integrity of the game, we won’t be actually placing our bets on my book, United AEG clever. We will have some friendly wagering going on to spice things up in general. And, and I’m glad it’s, it’s worked out already or we’re not on the same side for these first three.

The total is 83. This Washington team, as you can see in the numbers, Sean, they did win 16% of their games as opposed to North Carolina’s only 5%.

Yep. Live dog being said, they were on the tail end of a, of a couple absolute slaughters. As you can see, the range in points for Washington 29 to 46 where’s Baylor was scoring 37 to 61.

Speaker 4 (1h 4m 59s): Ryan, quick note here, of all the, those first three games, only one player had a rating above 80 Kamar Baldwin on the Butler Bulldogs. However, my boy, Isaiah Stuart, the second has an 80 rating. So that’s the kind of talent you’re dealing with. Granted, you’re going up against TJ or, uh, Jared Butler, who’s in 81, but I said it before, I think the game values size, whatever their rebounding algorithm is, I think it really lends itself to a length long, gosh and I, I dunno, Baylor’s height off the top of my head, but I do know Washington beat Arizona in the PAC 12.

They kinda got it together to late and again, much like UNC to me, they were a team that had a ton of potential, a ton of athletes, a ton of just guys who were, yeah. Just potential and, and couldn’t quite get it together for the regular season. That’s what I thought. Maybe pack 12 run was in the cards for them. I’ll definitely take them catching nine points and give me a, another potential rack fight in my mind under the 83. Uh, well actually Washington is the big team.

Uh, I will say Virginia hilariously scored had the lowest scoring game of any of the Sims only scoring 18. Wow. Um, uh, these games, I think what the data will would suggest is the, the, the Maryland is winning almost two thirds of the time, but if you dove in a little deeper, what you would see is they’re spread their, their average differential in these Sims for only winning 63% of their games is much higher than other similarly matched teams.

So what does that tell you? A lot of variants. And when Maryland was winning, they were winning big. Uh, I think they have the better roster here. I think they have obviously the better upside. And I’m never in my life going to select Virginia. Here’s the problem. Kramer FML tour there. They’re playing lots of stops right now since the entire sports calendar has been canceled. You know how strong the Kramer FML tourists shown all of sports is stopped. And we’ve had to sit, we have to save the world.

Oregon gets it done. Oregon advances and covers the two and a half. Yeah. I think a Oregon’s not going to have trouble with this Louisville team. You look at the match-ups. Um, yeah. Chris Duarte. And Louisville has some talent, but you throw in home court there and uh, I dunno, I just kinda like them coming into the tournament.

As far as the rankings, I think the home court is what’s going to carry them, but I do feel like that minus four feels a bit high. Um, from kind of what you’ve projected out Kramer. It feels like it may be a little closer games. So if you can get Memphis plus for, I think as soon as you see that you hop on that. So I feel like there’s a couple of games where the SIM data doesn’t back up the eye test just from when I’ve been like actually watching. So you’re not afraid to take a position? Like I like Creighton’s a team that when I look at the data, they don’t pop off to me.

Like Memphis, if you look at just the data, you’re like, Memphis has a legit shot here. They’re alive. Dog but when I watched this Creighton team play I Memphis, maybe they hang for a half, but they’re not going to hang the whole time. Creighton roles. Yeah. Uh, I’m going Memphis. I think this is going to be no, again, we’ll see where the outliers are. But uh, yeah, I think Memphis stays in this game. Just looking at the player ratings. I think they’re definitely hanging. And I’ll go, I’ll go under 80, two and a half on that one.
