College Football Week 15 Daily Fantasy Picks: Conference Championships: Best DraftKings, FanDuel Plays

Conference Championship week is upon us as we move one step closer towards Bowl season and the college football playoffs. Here are my favorite daily fantasy plays across this weeks’ slate of games.

QUARTERBACK: Jalen Hurts

$11,800 FanDuel; $9,000 DraftKings

Baylor @ Oklahoma: Saturday December 7: 12 PM EST (Oklahoma -9.5; 64)

It is no surprise to see Jalen Hurts as one of the most expensive options on the slate this weekend in one of the highest game totals set at 64. Hurts is up against a Baylor passing defense giving up over 213.7 passing yards per game.

The Sooners rank 20th in passing offense this season, but have done most of their offensive damage at home averaging 311.2 passing yards a game and 45.2 points per game on their home field. Jalen Hurts has been as accurate as it gets as a passer averaging a 71.9 completion percentage and throwing for 31 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions this season. Expect another accurate game out of Hurts.

RUNNING BACK: Darrynton Evans

$9,300 FanDuel; $7,000 DraftKings

UL Lafayette @ Appalachian State: Saturday December 7th 12 PM EST (App State -6.5; 56)

UL Lafayette rank sixth in the nation in rushing yards per game averaging 259.1, but they have really struggled on the defensive end stopping the run especially in the latter half of the season. Defensively they are giving up an average of 249 rushing yards over their most recent three games. This is the 13th highest throughout the three game stretch in the nation.

App State are a team who like to run the ball averaging 42.5 rushing attempts per game and rank 20th in the nation in yards per game on the ground averaging 221.4. Running back Darrynton Evans has been much more efficient in the latter half of the season rushing for no less than 80 yards and recording 130 or more receiving yards in two of his most recent four games.

FLEX/RUNNING BACK: Kenny Gainwell

$8,700 FanDuel; $7,500 DraftKings

Cincinnati @ Memphis: Saturday October 7: 3:30 PM EST (Memphis 69.5; 57.5)

Kenny Gainwell has logged seven games this season with 100 or more rushing yards averaging 6.8 yards a carry. He’s found the endzone 12 times, and has been aided by chunk yardage plays with rushing plays of 30 or more in seven games this regular season.

Over their most recent three games the Tigers have relied much more on their running game averaging 45 attempts a game. Expect Gainwell to be a factor in the Tigers’ offensive success.

WIDE RECEIVER: Cedric Byrd II

$8,900 FanDuel; $6,700 DraftKings

Hawaii @ Boise State: Saturday December 7: 4 PM EST (Boise State -13.5; 64.5)

Hawaii ranks sixth in the nation in passing yards per game averaging 335.2. They also rank third in passing attempts per game with 43.3.

Saturday they are big 13.5-point underdogs on the road versus Boise State who rank 88th in passing yards per game with 243, but have been much sharper defensively at home. With Hawaii likely needing to throw to keep up, expect good numbers out of Cedric Byrd II who has been a much more popular option in the latter half of the season over teammate JoJo Ward who has just over 100 less yards and 36 less receptions on the season thus far.
