With Week 9 already underway, here are my favorite plays to fill up your College Football Daily Fantasy Picks.
QUARTERBACK: Brock Purdy
$10,000 FanDuel; $7,700 DraftKings;
Oklahoma State @ Iowa State: Saturday October 26: 3:30 PM (Iowa State -10.5; 63.5)
Iowa State love to throw the football ranking 7th in passing yards per game averaging 327.8. They also have one of the highest completion percentages averaging 68.8 percent. Cyclones quarterback Brock Purdy should continue his success versus an Oklahoma State team ranked 103rd surrendering 275.5 passing yards per game. They are coming off a game where they gave up 18.4 yards an attempt, the second highest in the league to Baylor.
RUNNING BACK: Cam Akers
$9,800 FanDuel; $7,500 DraftKings
Syracuse @ Florida State: Saturday October 26: 3:30 PM (FSU -10.5; 59)
Florida State running back Cam Akers is coming off his second best offensive showing of the season carrying the ball 30 times for 157 yards. He was also a factor in the receiving game hauling in 4 receptions for 42 total yards. On the season he’s logged 7 touchdowns and 1,024 rushing yards and 116 receiving yards.
Look for his success to continue versus a Syracuse defense surrendering an average of 170.2 rushing yards per game, and a very high 4.7 yards per rushing attempt.
WIDE RECEIVER: Gabriel Davis
$9,900 FanDuel; $7,700 DraftKings
UCF @ Temple: Saturday October 21: 7 PM EST (UCF -10; 61)
It is not often we see wide receivers more expensive than Alabama’s CeeDee Lamb, but this week that would be UCF’s Gabriel Davis. Davis has logged four straight games with 115 or more receiving yards and he is averaging an enormous 17.7 yards a reception. He has also found the end zone 10 times this season.
He is in a favorable matchup against a Temple defense surrendering an average of 244 passing yards a game. This Temple team also surrendered 250 yards on 8 reception’s to SMU’s Reggie Roberson Jr. last week.
FLEX/RUNNING BACK: KENNETH GAINSWELL
$10,200 FanDuel; $8,200 DraftKings
Memphis @ Tulsa: Saturday October 26: 7 PM EST (-7; 56.5)
Tulsa has been stout against the pass ranking 28th in the nation surrendering an average of 189.7 passing yards per game. Their rushing defense have surrendered an average of 4.6 yards an attempt an 195.1 rushing yards per game.
This looks to be a position for Memphis running back Kenny Gainwell to thrive as his counterpart Patrick Taylor Jr. is questionable for the week once again. Gainwell has been putting up big numbers in his absence with no less than 14 rushing attempts a game through the first seven. He has also eclipsed the 100 yard mark in five of seven contests. His consistency is a nice addition to your rosters.
