Here are my favorite DFS plays for Week 5 of the college football regular season.
FLEX/RB: Darius Anderson
$6,500 DraftKings; $10,000 FanDuel
TCU @ Kansas: Saturday September 28: 12 PM EST (TCU -14.5; 49)
Kansas has been very poor thus far defending the run allowing an average of 197.3 rushing yards a game. Opponents are capitalizing off this poor defense as they rank 123rd in the nation in opponent rushing attempts per game with 48.
TCU loves to run the ball and they rank 8th in rushing attempts per game with 50. Look for running back Darius Anderson to continue his success and build off his 161 and 179 rushing games. He is averaging 9 yards an attempt and already has four touchdowns through three games.
WIDE RECEIVER: Jhamon Ausbon
$6,300 DraftKings; $8,800 FanDuel
Arkansas @ TX A&M: Saturday September 28: 12 PM EST (TX A&M 23.5; 60.5)
The Arkansas defense ranks 97th in the nation in passing yards per game but are coming off a contest where they gave up 402 to San Jose State at home. Look for their defensive struggles to continue.
Ausbon is off to a great start this year already hauling in 16 receptions for 226 yards and two touchdowns. He has caught no less than five passes in each game this year and is averaging 14.1 yards a catch.
QUARTERBACK: Jamie Newman
$7,800 DraftKings; $10,300 FanDuel
Wake @ Boston College: Saturday September 28: 3:30 PM EST (Wake Forest -6; 69)
Boston College have really struggled defending the pass this year allowing 295.3 passing yards a game ranking them 105th. This has been an ongoing struggle for the squad who ended last season allowing 326.3 over the final three games of the season.
Although Wake Forest ranks towards the middle of the pack in passing attempts per game, they have been efficient getting big yardage out of Newman. They rank 20th in the nation averaging 309 passing per game.
Quarterback Jamie Newman has completed over 77 percent of his passes three times throughout the first four games and has surpassed 300 yards in all those contests.
Chuba Hubbard
$8,400 DraftKings; $10,500 FanDuel
Kansas State @ Oklahoma State: Saturday Septembet 28: 7 PM EST (OK State -4; 60)
Hubbard has already found the endzone nine times this year and is off to a huge start. He is averaging 6.2 yards a carry and has already logged 103 attempts through four games. He has also surpassed the 220 rushing yard mark twice.
Look for him to find the endzone quite a bit, and put up big numbers versus a Kansas State defense allowing 131 rushing yards a game. With 36, 32, and 26 carries in three of the first four games of the season, expect lots of touches and big numbers.
