World Cup Preview & Odds: Bet It All On US Women’s National Team Right Now

Why You Should Bet It All On The US Women's National Team Right Now

The 2019 Women’s World Cup is approaching fast. The first round of matches kicks off in France on Saturday, June 8th. Twenty-four teams will be competing for the trophy, but realistically, there are only a few teams who could win it all. Since the tournament began in 1991 only four nations have won the trophy: Japan, Germany, Norway, and of course the USA.

The tournament comes at a relatively dead time in the American sports calendar. It will begin right as both the NBA and NHL Playoffs come to an end. This leaves sports bettors with nothing but baseball and the occasional golf tournament until the Fall.

Why not fill that void and fulfill your patriotic duty by betting on the US Women’s National Team (USWNT) to win the World Cup? This is not only the patriotic thing to do, but it is also the logical thing to do! If you are a sports bettor, you should bet on the US Women’s National Team and you should bet on them RIGHT NOW!!

Why You Should Bet on The USWNT

The US has everything you would want in a championship team and Vegas agrees. They are the current favorite to win it all at +250 in most books with the host nation France not far behind at +350. The Germans are also +350 to win and Japan rounds out the top 4 at +800.

There’s good reason why the US are the favorites. They are the defending champions and have retained a lot of the core players from the team that won it all in 2015.

One of these players is their captain Carly Lloyd who scored a hat trick in the 2015 final against Japan. She along with fellow captains Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe round out a core of veteran leadership that no other team on the planet can compete with. This core group has played in the final of the last two World Cups and I expect them to do so again this year. In fact, since the first Women’s World Cup in 1991 the US has never finished outside the top three.

By comparison, the French Women’s National Team has one fourth place finish in 2011 and that’s it. They have played very well in friendlies recently beating Urugay 6-0, Japan 3-1, and Denmark 4-0. But I do not believe this group will be able to deliver when it counts.

In their last major competition, The UEFA Women’s European Championship, they went out in the quarter finals to England 1-0. Whereas, the United States won the CONCACAF Gold Cup last year. They also won the Gold Cup in 2014 before they went on to win the World Cup in 2015.

The US DID NOT win the Gold Cup in the year they lost to Japan in the World Cup final. Be sure to get those bets in because all the trends point to another World Cup win for the US Women’s National team.

Why You Should Bet RIGHT NOW!

These lines are going to move as the tournament approaches! For the average sports bettor, the Women’s World Cup is not on the radar right now as we are in the middle of both the NBA and NHL Playoffs. Once those are over everyone will turn their attention to the Women’s World Cup.

Plenty of money will start to come in on the USWNT, especially at US based sports books. The US Women’s National Team is a team that everyone here in The States knows is good and wants to root for. They are the easiest team to get behind in the country because they represent all of us and more importantly THEY WIN!

As the money starts pouring in on the USA, the odds are inevitably going to get worse. Put your bets in as soon as possible because the hype is only going to build as the tournament approaches and the odds are only going to get worse from +250. This trend is exactly what happened before the 2015 World Cup. According to SportsInsights.com, the odds dropped from +300 to +250 over the course of the last tournament.

Get all the value you can in this tournament and place your bet on the USWNT right now. USA!
