Premier League DFS Preview and Core Plays (Saturday, April 6)

Welcome back everybody! Last week was great, if you are keeping track of the picks there is a good chance that were able to make some money. I was able to win my double-up thanks to good performances from last week’s picks Luka Milivojević, Ashley Young, and Kasper Schmeichel. We did not get great production out of Forward Michy Batshuayi but that’s okay because we were able to get a goal out of his teammate Milivojević and with the money I saved on him I was able to get Marcus Rashford who had a very productive day. Hopefully we can keep the good picks coming for this weekend’s action. This article will have four players to build your team around if you want to make some money playing DFS Soccer on Saturday April 6th!

Forward

Jamie Vardy LEI
Yes, I am aware that Jamie Vardy is the most expensive striker on the board this week on both DraftKings and FanDuel. There is good reason for this. Vardy is the highest quality striker available up against a defense that DraftKings rates as the worst in the Premier League. I think that makes him worth paying for and there are stats to back me up on this.

Vardy is scoring plenty of goals for Leicester this season. So far, he has scored 13 goals in the Premier League. He has been especially good against teams at the bottom of the Premier League table. On March 9th Vardy put in two goals against the other side that has already been relegated, Fulham. And when Leicester played Huddersfield earlier in the season Vardy had a goal and an assist. I think Vardy is a must start this Saturday no matter what the cost.

Midfield

James Maddison LEI
Last week my strategy was also to pick two players going up against Huddersfield town. Crystal Palace striker Michy Batshuayi let me down and had a terrible DFS outing but fortunately for me I was saved by his teammate in midfield Luka Milivojević. Milivojević was one of the top scoring fantasy players last weekend with 30.8 on FanDuel and 18.3 on DraftKings. I am hoping that is what happens here with this pick.

Maddison plays a similar role to Milivojević for Leicester and regardless of Vardy’s output, I think Maddison will have a monster day against Huddersfeild. Leicester should be on the attack for a majority of the game, giving Maddison opportunities to earn points with free kicks and set pieces even if he does not score a goal. When Leicester played Huddersfield earlier in the year Maddison scored a goal and had two shots. Maddison and Vardy are expensive but are the perfect combo to have in your lineup this Saturday.

Defense

Wes Morgan LEI
I really am going all in on Leicester this weekend. Wes Morgan may not be the flashiest defender on Leicester City. In fact, he is probably 4th on that list behind Harry Maguire, Ben Chilwell, and Ricardo Pereria. But we need to pick him this week because we need to save money somewhere on this team in order to afford both Maddison and Vardy. Morgan may not even be a downgrade from the other Leicester defenders. The 35-year-old Jamaican Center back has scored goals in 3 of the last 4 games he’s played in! Even if he doesn’t score he has plenty of chances to rack up points against bottom feeders Huddersfield. Wes Morgan might be the best value on the board this Saturday.

Goalkeeper

Asmir Begović BOU
There’s really not a great crop of goalkeepers to choose from in this Saturday’s contest. Any one of the six active keepers could concede a few goals this weekend, with the exception of maybe Schmeichel for Leicester City. But because he is playing Huddersfield he probably won’t face too many shots during the game giving him few opportunities to rack up points during the game. Schmeichel will also be an expensive keeper because he is facing Huddersfield and this is a position where we need to save money.

I think the best value keeper this week is without a doubt Bournemouth’s Asmir Begović. He is playing at home against a Burnley side who are fighting for survival in the Premier League and are 14th in goals scored this season. With this in mind, I think Begović could see a lot of shots but not concede many goals. This makes him my value play of the week at goalkeeper.
