LSU coach Will Wade could not have handled this wire tapping situation any worse. He doesn’t need to look far to figure out how to carry out illicit activities in college sports. SEC country is prime for players getting paid to play. John Calipari has been pimpin’ his programs for years and he still has a job. Wade’s own school used to have the master on the football side in Nick Saban.

The truth of the matter is, these kids need to be getting fucking paid. Get rid of all of these ridiculous rules that allow programs to make millions of dollars, but give the players the shaft. College athletes are going to always get paid under the table. Continuing to get the FBI involved is preposterous.
There is still a basketball tournament to play here. A pretty good one too. The SEC has actually stepped their game up on the basketball side this season. Must be all of those Benjamins circulating the campuses.
Tennessee and Kentucky have both been ranked #1 in the country at some point this season. We have come to expect this from John Calipari’s Wildcats teams. The middle of the pack teams have been strong this season as well. Joe Lunardi is predicting 7 SEC teams to make the tournament.

LSU landed a #1 seed in this tourney and they are over 4/1 to win it. That’s way too high for a team this talented. I think with all of the Will Wade drama going on, the team will come together and leave it all out on the court. Freshman guard Javonte Smart may still be able to play after sitting out the final regular season game. If he can go, this team will be dangerous.
Sometimes these situations that involve suspensions and law enforcement can make a team stronger. The distractions surrounding the program can make the basketball court a place to get away from the noise. They know they have the talent to make noise in this tournament and in the NCAA.
Their only 2 conference losses came to Arkansas by 1 point and Florida by 3. They knocked off Kentucky and Tennessee when each of them were ranked in the top 5. Their only road loss of the season was at Houston in December. That means they went undefeated on the road in SEC games. That’s impressive.
