Sides & Total
No shocker here the Yankees are a big favorite against the lowly Orioles with ace Luis Severino going against Dylan Bundy. Personally, the line is a little rich for my blood.
With Baltimore struggling the way they have this year the Yankees laying -1.5 is a better play here but I would focus on the total. With Severino allowing a 5.40 ERA during the month of August and Bundy at 5.31 for the season, Runs should be fairly easy to come by especially in a park like Camden Yards.
Props
Total hits/runs/Errors are at 27 +120 over -140 under. Really liking the over there in what should be a relatively high scoring affair. A score in the first inning is a straight pickem at -110 which looks solid. The Yankees should jump out early on Bundy. Also a fan of Severino over 6.5 strikeouts.
Daily Fantasy Plays Sunday Night
Greg Bird $7,600 and Brett Gardner $8,700 stand out to me tonight as solid plays with the price and the matchup of lefty versus righty starter. Taking a reliever has worked for me in the past and either Dellin Betances $3,100 or Zach Britton $2,800 should fill the role nicely. Stay away from Bundy at all costs. Avoid him like he was Ted Bundy.
Final Notes
The Orioles have paid dearly for overpaying Chris Davis and are paying the cost. They also waited way too long to deal their assets. They had no chance competing in a top-heavy AL East this year and although they got a decent return on Machado they could’ve done much better had they unloaded him sooner.
The Yankees have been good as expected this year yet will be playing for the wild card game again during September thanks to a dominant performance this year from the Red Sox. Boston has a legit chance to win 120 games this year which will put the Yankees against Oakland most likely in the wild card game. Anything can happen in a one-game playoff but I feel we’re headed towards another epic Boston-New York playoff series. Gonna be an interesting September for sure stay tuned.
