Side & Total

The Red Sox are trying to finish off a four-game sweep of the Yankees tonight which would only be their third such sweep since 1990. With the first three games a combined 23-9 I feel like Boston is getting revenge for the famed “Boston Massacre” series in 1978 that saw the Yankees end up with the Division title thanks to a Bucky Dent homer. It’s hard to pick against Boston here as they are ROLLING right now. 7-1 SU in last 8 games, 12-2 in David Price’s last 14 starts. If you bet $100 on each of his starts this season you’d be up $530 so far this year thanks to Oddsshark Pitcher Money Won table. A four-game sweep is rare but Yankees appear to be on a down stretch. I like the Red Sox here at home -110. This shouldn’t be a pickem.

For the total, the Yankees have gone over in 10/16 of Masahiro Tanaka’s starts against Boston. Price is in a groove right now and 9 seems like a lot considering the bullpens should close the door relatively early here. Take the under.

Props

The score in the first inning has been cashing in these Sunday night games. -115 score in first -105 no score in first. That’s a nice little play early on knowing about Tanaka and his tendency to go over. I really like the Price strikeout total here at over 5.5 (-105) under is (-115.). I feel he has a longer leash here and if he starts off the way he’s been pitching lately he could have it early.

Daily Fantasy Plays Sunday Night

I like the lefty hitters Jackie Bradley Jr. at $5,900 and Mitch Moreland at $6,500 against Tanaka. David Price ($13,000) is actually the cheaper of the two pitchers tonight despite Tanaka historically giving up a lot of runs against Boston so I’m riding him all the way.

Final Notes

These teams are hitting that final turn with Boston appearing to have the upper hand despite the Chris Sale injury down the stretch. The Yankees need to get a healthy Aaron Judge back in the lineup producing to the level they’re used to if they’re going to make up the difference. After tonight they have six games left against each other in late September. I’m sure this race will come down to the wire but if the Yankees aren’t careful in the next couple weeks they could just be playing for the wild card and not the division.
