3 No-Brainer Strategies You Should Adopt To Increase Your Chances Of Winning Bets

I know this is probably not the first article you’ve read about betting strategies and how to increase your chances of winning, and I know you’ve probably read so much you feel you know enough to make informed decisions.

Whilst checking prediction sites act as a good source of information, they are not bulletproof. Neither is ‘knowing the team’. By relying only on these two things, you could be missing out on other winning strategies, some of which could be a gamechanger.

So, without further ado, here are 3 things you need to start doing when placing bets:

Stop Betting On Your Favourite Team If They Suck

I’m sorry but I can’t help stress this enough, it’s like I’m speaking in some foreign, alien language. Just a few weeks ago I was listening to a radio channel and they had a competition going on. Basically, the guys were asking the viewers to try and guess the outcome of Juventus against Real Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinal game. If they guessed correctly, they would win three grand.

I cannot tell you how many men and women were calling the station saying that Juve is “obviously” going to win, throwing in numbers like Juve-Madrid 3-1 or 2-0. When asked why they thought Juve was going to win, it was the same old “because they’re the best and I’ve always been a Juve fan”. Now, I get it, they’re siding with their favourite team, but they were playing for three grand for crying out loud. Even for someone who’s more interested in boxing than soccer, I could still tell that that just wasn’t going to happen.

I just still don’t know whether it’s wishful thinking on their part or simply plain disregard for the facts. I mean, the team has been struggling for quite some time now, as a team and because of individual players like Gonzalo Higuain who everyone seems to agree he’s become quite a burden on the team.

Therefore, the way I see it is that nobody should care about what team their siding with. If they’re not going to cut it, then that’s it, but maybe that’s just me. I like to bet my money where it’s more likely to bear fruit. So, my first advice to anyone who’s looking to make money off sports betting is that you have to look beyond the trivialities of who’s your favourite team and what not.

Don’t Just Place Bets, Place Live Bets

With live betting, you can place bets in real time, as the event unfolds before your eyes. The odds will also change according to what’s happening, so for instance, if you’re watching a soccer game, the live betting odds will change from time to time according to the score and performance of both teams. In any case, you will have a wide selection of bets you can place.

So, let’s say if you thought your team was going to get a good headstart but the other team takes the lead, the live odds will change to reflect this, giving you a chance to place a better bet than you would have prior to the commencement of the game.

Therefore, betting in real time will obviously increase your chances of winning. Now, of course, you cannot lug your laptop with you everywhere you go, (especially if you’re at your local pub watching the game with your mates), but that shouldn’t stop you from placing live bets from your phone. Think about it, you carry your phone with you at all times, and you probably carry out most of your daily tasks on your mobile phone anyway.

You make money transfers, purchase items online, book a flight and much more on your phone, and you can do the same with betting. All bookmakers are available on mobile and depositing money is even better on mobile phones. Apart from paying with your credit card, you could make safer payments through an e-wallet payment app like ecoPayz. EcoPayz works very similarly to Paypal, in that you transfer the amount of money onto your ecoPayz account in order to deposit on the bookmaker’s site so that your bank account details are not shared with the bookmaker.

Forget Your Ideas For A Moment And Listen To Other People’s Opinions

I get it, you’ve been studying your team and their opponents, and you think you know what you’re doing and you don’t give a care in the world for what others have to say. That’s fine, nobody’s trying to change your mind, but it would be quite foolish of you to ignore completely what others like you have to say.

Some of these people, (not all of them), would have done their homework carefully too, and amidst all the bantering, there could be some information worth digesting. That colleague that gets on your nerves talking about the game, might actually offer some good insights.

Remember that ultimately it’s about staying in the loop and gaining that extra bit of information that can help you make good decisions and hopefully win you some bets. It’s true that to some extent, sports betting works on the basis of luck, but this is still not entirely what it is based on.

In fact, the outcome of a game is mostly the result of skill and very rarely the result of chance or pure luck. In the same way, sports betting doesn’t work solely on luck. With a good understanding of gameplay and strategic skills, you can place better bets and also guarantee winnings.
