2014 NFL Season Preview Series

Chicago Bears Preview

  • Julius Peppers and Henry Melton out, Jared Allen, Lamar Houston, Willie Young and Kyle Fuller in. Has the Bears defense done enough to improve on their 25th(DVOA) in 2014?
  • You could argue that Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery, Martellus Bennett and Matt Forte make up the best collection of offensive skill position players in the league. Is Jay Cutler the man to take this offense to the elite level in 2014?
  • Marc Tresman is regarded as an offensive genius and is now in his 2nd year as a NFL head coach. Will the league adjust to his scheme or can he stay a step ahead of the defensive minds of the NFL?

Chicago Bears Odds

  • Win Total: 8.5(-150/120)
  • Division Odds: +275
  • Conference Odds: +750
  • Super Bowl Odds: +1400

Detroit Lions Preview

  • Jim Caldwell has been brought in due to the perception that he will be able to clean up the mental lapses that have made the Lions the Lions during the Schwartz tenure in Detroit. Here is the problem, Jim Caldwell has not been a good actual football coach in the past couple years. Can Jim Caldwell be the man to right the ship in Detroit?
  • The Lions defensive headliners for the past couple years have been the D line. Can The Defensive line once again be so dominant that it can hide the sub-par play across the rest of the defense.
  • Quite simply can Matt Stafford limit the mistakes that have given him the unfortunate comparisons to Tony Romo?

Detroit Lions Odds

  • Win Total: 8.5(-105/-125)
  • Division Odds: +400
  • Conference Odds: +1800
  • Super Bowl Odds: +3300

Green Bay Packers Preview

  • The Packers added the 34 year old Julius Peppers in an attempt to give some support to Clay Matthews and the pass rush. Dom Capers has made a career on risk taking and turnovers, and as we have seen this quickly falls apart when key cog gets hurt. Will the defense make enough plays to just be average?
  • Eddie Lacy came on strong down the stretch last year. Can he be the workhorse that they Packers have been missing?
  • The offense thrives when they have 3 good pass catchers. With Cobb and Nelson known commodities, Will Jarrett Boykin step up and give them the 3rd option they need?

Green Bay Packers Odds

  • Win Total: 10.5(-115/-115)
  • Division Odds: -125
  • Conference Odds: +600
  • Super Bowl Odds: +1000

Minnesota Vikings Preview

  • There is some excitement swirling around Norv Turner and this solid set of skill position players. Kyle Rudolph, Cordelle Patterson, AP and Greg Jennings need security at the QB position. Is Teddy Bridgewater the man to get the most out of these weapons?
  • Mike Zimmer is here and with him he has brought a massive overhaul on the defensive roster. Can Mike Zimmer continue to get the most out of every player on his defense and improve on there 21st(DVOA) ranking in 2013?
  • No one will argue that Adrian Peterson is a great running back. Can AP have yet another career year and lead the Vikings to a suprise playoff berth again?

Minnesota Vikings Odds

  • Win Total: 6(-165/+135)
  • Division Odds: +1000
  • Conference Odds: +4000
  • Super Bowl Odds: +7500
