Kansas is the new favorite

Betting for the 2023 Super Bowl opened in September 2022, with the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills locked as the joint favorites. We have seen both teams sit at the top of the betting this year, but traders have gone with Kansas ahead of the playoffs

Their form during the regular season was more impressive than their rivals, and the bookies believe they are champions in waiting. Chiefs finished as winners of the AFC West with fourteen wins and three defeats.

Kansas was last seen in action hammering the Las Vegas Raiders 31-13 and appear to be finding their top gear at the right time of the season. There’s more to come from this team, and it would be no surprise to see them prove the betting traders right.

Buffalo has more to offer

Buffalo has shown flashes of their skill and speed this season, but we’ve yet to see their best. They did win the AFC East with league stats of thirteen wins and three defeats, showing that even when they’re not at their best, the Bills are a team to fear.

Buffalo’s last outing was played on Sunday when they snuck past a determined Miami Dolphins side. The score in that game at Highmark Stadium read 34-31 in the Bills’ favor, and although they dug deep and got the win, it was just a little too close for comfort in the opinion of many fans. A more convincing performance was expected, and they must offer more on Sunday against the Bengals when back at Highmark.

Underdogs with bite

We have covered both betting favorites. Now let’s shine the spotlight on an outsider that’s good enough to score an upset. The San Francisco 49ers caught the eye last weekend when they more than doubled the opponents’ score, the Seattle Seahawks.

The 49ers looked full of running and ambition. They are dangerous in attack but must tighten up in defense if they are to go all the way to the title. Traditionally, Super Bowl winners aren’t the highest scorers of the season but the team with the strongest defense. The coaching staff will know this, and we expect a stronger outing against the Dallas Cowboys.
